Garden services

Originally founded in 1988 to help protect the industrial heritage of Stroud and its five valleys, we have established our reputation since then for our work with local community groups and volunteers: helping, inspiring and training them to discover and nurture the wildlife and green spaces on their doorsteps.  In this way, we are opening up opportunities for a much wider group of people to become involved Seed swapin environmental improvement, reaching out to young and old, as well as to those previously cut off from such activities by disadvantage or disability.

Our strategy in pursuing these aims and objectives is to continue to:

  1. forge a greater awareness of environmental and biodiversity issues so that local people are able to influence local planning and policy-makers to ensure sustainability is at the heart of the local agenda
  2. engage as many people as possible in the work of sustainable development by working with local partner agencies and health providerspg130318hdgcrs 125resized
  3. provide a lively learning resource for local people of all ages.

During 2019, our office and Eco Shop was awarded Gold in the Green Impact awards.  Green Impact is an international environmental behaviour change programme that works with hundredsof organisations throughout the world and helps them to become more environmentally sustainable and includes an environmental accreditation scheme with an award aspect.  See here for more information : Green Impact Gold Awardgreenimpact logo

Some feedback :

Thank you for hosting the conversation this afternoon. How wonderful to spend time with the bird-box maker group too.

I've attached a photograph of the box that I purchased earlier which is now in situ. I was told that it was one of the ones made this afternoon so maybe a product of the great coaching that I had with the task! Please do send my sincere thanks to David for his teaching expertise and patience.

It was a really enjoyable experience and super to meet such motivated, connected and encouraging people. You clearly facilitate some great work and community development.
