Stonehouse Court to host red-hot community evening

Stonehouse and Stroud residents are invited to take part in a red-hot community event later this month.

Stroud Fire Walk, which will see dozens of brave souls walking over burning hot coals to raise money for three local charities, is taking place at Stonehouse Court Hotel on Friday 29 September – and there will be plenty to entertain everyone who comes to support the fire walkers.

“We’ll have games and activities for youngsters, our amazing human fruit machine, and a quiz for all the family,” explains Kerri Tyler of Stroud Valleys Project (SVP). “A roving face-painter will be transforming people into human works of art, and we’ll have UkeStroud playing a few hot numbers to welcome people to the event.”

Stonehouse Court Hotel are also offering a generous 15% discount on evening meals to supporters of fire walkers, so people are invited to come and make a night of it.

The intrepid fire walkers have each selected either SVP, The Door or Allsorts Gloucestershire as their chosen charity, with people raising money online and through sponsorship forms. The event is being run by Blaze, the country’s leading fire walk company.

“Between ourselves, The Door and Allsorts, we support so many different people in our area,” explains Kerri.

“Stroud Fire Walk promises to be a brilliant evening… and the more people come, the more money we can raise to help us carry on our vital work with our communities across our local area.”

If you’d like to sign up for the fire walk, visit stroudfirewalk.com, or to support each of the charities, visit each charity’s social media accounts.
